When worn and used correctly, ring slings are safe and comfortable for you and your baby.
Here are a few things to keep in mind:
- Be sure you can always see your baby's face – particularly when nursing.
- If the child is making grunting or gasping noises, change positions or remove them from the sling immediately, as this is a sign that their airway is becoming constricted.
- Keeping one arm inside the sling while adjusting the sling or while nursing is practical and recommended for new users and with smaller babies.
